Types of Anodizing Offered by Anebon
Anodizing type I (Matte)
Anodizing Type II, commonly known as “Matte,” involves a sulfuric acid-based anodizing procedure. This process forms a consistent oxide coating on aluminum, improving corrosion protection and delivering a non-glossy, matte surface appearance. It supports a wide range of color dyeing possibilities, combining durability with visual appeal. The typical film thickness for Type II anodizing is 8-12 μm for clear finishes and 12-16 μm when colored or black.
Anodizing type II (Glossy)
Anodizing Type II (Glossy) is a variation of the classic sulfuric acid anodizing technique. It creates a thicker oxide layer on aluminum, providing strong protection. This specialized process yields a shiny, reflective surface, enhancing the component’s visual appeal while preserving its superior durability. The typical film thickness for Type II anodizing is 8-12 μm for clear finishes and 12-16 μm for black or colored coatings.
Anodized type III (Hardcoat)
Anodized Type III, also called “Hardcoat,” employs sulfuric acid to generate a dense and compact oxide layer on aluminum. This treatment offers superior wear resistance and excellent electrical insulation. The thick, robust coating, typically darker in color, withstands severe conditions and heavy-duty applications. The film thickness for Type III anodizing ranges from 25 to 50 μm.
We provide a range of standard anodized color finishes (refer to Color Options). For custom color matching with RAL or Pantone standards, please contact our team to discuss your specific project needs.
Our typical anodized coating thicknesses comply with ISO 7599: ISO class AA10 for clear anodizing and ISO class AA15 for colored finishes. Should your application require different anodizing thickness standards, our specialists can customize to meet these demands. Contact us to obtain a quote for non-standard anodizing thicknesses.
